AXIS T8640PoE+ over Coax Adaptor Kit enables existing coax cabling to be reused when upgrading analog CCTV systems to IP. The kit includes a base unit and a device unit that together deliver standard Power over Ethernet (PoE) over coaxial cable, supplying centrally sourced power and network connectivity to compatible network devices. The solution supports long-range links and allows adding local power at the device end when higher power is required. Both units have an LED display that indicates link and power status for simplified installation and verification.

How to use

Install the base unit where the network switch and central power are located and connect it to the Ethernet switch using the RJ-45 port. Connect the base unit to the existing coax cable run toward the camera or device location. At the far end, install the device unit and connect it to the coax cable and to the network device via the Ethernet port. If additional power is required at the device, connect a local power supply to the device unit. Verify operation using the LED indicators to confirm network link and power delivery.
