MPPT Solar Charge Controller AZO Digital 12/24V 20A – Battery Regulator, Intelligent Solar Charger
The AZO Digital MPPT Solar Charge Controller 12/24V 20A is a battery regulator designed to maximize energy harvest from photovoltaic panels and manage charging of 12V or 24V battery systems. This intelligent solar charger applies Maximum Power Point Tracking (MPPT) to follow the optimal operating point of the solar array, improving charging efficiency compared with conventional PWM controllers. It provides regulated charging for lead‑acid and compatible batteries while offering protection functions for common off‑grid and mobile applications.
The controller increases photovoltaic system efficiency by continuously adjusting to the panel’s maximum power point, which can result in higher charging currents under varying sunlight and temperature conditions. It integrates essential battery management features such as multi‑stage charging, overcharge protection, and deep discharge protection to prolong battery life. Compact size and a clear interface make installation and monitoring straightforward for small installations, recreational vehicles and marine use.
This 20A controller is intended for small to medium domestic or mobile systems and may be undersized for larger arrays or battery banks that require higher charging current. Systems requiring advanced networking, very large PV arrays, three‑phase integration or compatibility with battery chemistries not listed as supported may need a different controller model.
Install the controller close to the battery bank with appropriate gauge cables and secure mounting. Connect the battery first to allow the unit to detect system voltage, then connect the solar panel array. Configure the controller according to the battery type and nominal voltage; some models provide simple switches or a menu for setting charging parameters. Verify connections and polarity before energizing the array, and consult the product manual for recommended cable sizes, fusing and grounding practices.
For best results, size the solar array so that peak PV current does not exceed the controller’s 20A limit, and set charging parameters according to the battery manufacturer’s specifications. Periodic inspection of connections and battery condition will help maintain reliable operation over time.
