Managed Switch Barox RY-GSP23-26
The Barox RY-GSP23-26 is a managed Layer 2+ Gigabit Ethernet switch with 24 PoE-capable ports designed for environments with high data volume. It supports efficient video-over-IP and multicast streaming while supplying power to IP cameras via PoE over standard Ethernet cables. With a switching capacity of 52 Gbit/s and an 8000-entry MAC address table, the unit is suitable for deployment in rack-mounted network installations that require extensive management and reliable data throughput.
The switch actively monitors PoE-powered cameras and will automatically restart a camera in case of failure; if restart is unsuccessful, it sends an SNMP alarm. It also detects abnormal power consumption on PoE ports and reports incidents via SNMP. PoE output can be scheduled or staggered to avoid overloading the PoE power budget. Additional video-friendly features include a high backplane capacity for smooth video transmission with all ports in use and support for jumbo frames up to 9600 bytes on 100 Mbit/s links. MAC address restriction improves port-level security.
Mount the Barox RY-GSP23-26 in a standard 19-inch rack (1U) and connect network devices to the Gigabit RJ-45 ports. Configure PoE settings, SNMP monitoring and scheduled PoE start intervals via the switch’s management interface to match your camera deployment and power budget. Use the switch management tools to set MAC-address restrictions, VLANs and multicast settings to optimize video traffic and network security.
For stable video streaming and reliable camera operation, plan PoE power distribution so that scheduled PoE start intervals prevent simultaneous high-current draw. Enable SNMP alerts and active camera monitoring to detect and respond to camera failures promptly. Use jumbo frames and appropriate VLAN/multicast configuration where supported by connected devices to improve video transmission efficiency.
