Ring Modulator Behringer OCTAVE DIVIDER 000-EAE01-00010 - analog effects unit

Behringer OCTAVE DIVIDER 000-EAE01-00010 is an analog ring modulator and octave divider designed for creative signal processing and sound design. The unit provides ring modulation to produce metallic and bell-like timbres and an octave division function to generate lower, pitch-shifted signals. Its straightforward analogue signal path makes it suitable for integration with synthesizers, electric guitars, and studio setups where unconventional textures and experimental tones are required.

Advantages

The device combines ring modulation and octave division in a single compact unit, allowing quick switching between or layering of effects without complex routing. Its analog circuitry preserves harmonic character and offers immediate, hands‑on control, while a simple control set reduces setup time in both live and studio contexts.

Suitable for

• Sound design for electronic music and experimental production
• Processing synthesizer outputs to create metallic or bell-like textures
• Adding octave-shifted tones to guitar signals
• Live performance setups needing distinctive modulation effects
• Studio signal processing and creative effect chains

Key specifications

• Effect types: ring modulation and octave division (analogue)
• Signal path: analogue circuitry for harmonic preservation
• Input/Output: designed for instrument and line-level signals
• Controls: dedicated controls for effect balance and depth (hands‑on adjustment)
• Form factor: compact effects unit suitable for desktop or rack/board integration

How to use

Connect the instrument or synthesizer output to the unit input and route the output to an amplifier, mixer, or audio interface. Select ring modulation to blend carrier and modulator signals for metallic, bell-like tones, or engage octave division to obtain lower-pitched variations of the input. Adjust the effect balance and depth controls to set the desired intensity and to blend processed signal with the dry input for subtle or dramatic results. Monitor levels to avoid clipping and to maintain headroom in the signal chain.

Usage recommendations

For controlled results, start with moderate effect depth and gradually increase to find the point where the processed texture complements the original sound. When using with synthesizers, experiment with different waveforms and filter settings to explore a wide range of timbres; with guitars, combine the unit with pickups and amp settings that emphasize mid and high frequencies for clearer ring modulation results.
