Description

The DCX3000 Extender is a high-performance KVM extender that lets you place critical computing hardware in a secure, temperature-controlled location away from the user workstation while keeping the same desktop experience. It transmits DisplayPort video up to 1920 x 1200 at 60 Hz, USB HID and embedded audio over a single CATx cable up to 50 metres.

Advantages

The extender delivers zero compression and zero latency video for pixel-perfect image quality, supports video, USB and audio over a single CATx cable (CAT6/7 recommended) and provides a plug-and-play setup with no drivers required. The transmitter is an interface-powered Server Access Module (SAM) that needs no separate power supply, reducing space and cabling in high-density environments. The receiver supports DVI displays (HDMI via DVI–HDMI adapter), four USB HID ports, two 3.5 mm audio jacks and a locking power connector.

How to use

Connect the transmitter (SAM) to the host computer via the DisplayPort and USB interfaces; the SAM receives power from the USB connection and requires no separate power supply. Run a single CATx cable (recommended CAT6/7) from the transmitter to the user station up to 50 metres away. At the user station, connect a DVI display or use a DVI–HDMI adapter for HDMI monitors, attach USB HID devices to the available USB ports and connect headphones or speakers to the 3.5 mm jacks. The solution is plug-and-play; no driver installation is necessary. For installations that require central switching, connect SAMs and user stations to the DCX3000 switch to create a scalable KVM matrix.
