The BlueOptics AT-MTP12-30-BO is a 30-meter multi-mode OM3 fiber optic patch cable with MTP connectors on both ends designed for high-density, high-speed InfiniBand and data centre applications. This aqua-coloured MTP–MTP cable supports male-to-male MTP connections and is intended for interconnects between patch panels, optical transceivers and other MTP-equipped equipment. The cable uses laser-optimized multi-mode fiber and a flame-retardant LSZH jacket for installation in confined or public spaces.
This MTP-MTP OM3 cable offers low attenuation and low insertion loss combined with high return loss values, which helps maintain signal integrity across the 30 m run. Connectors use zirconia ceramic ferrules and branded fiber components from established manufacturers to ensure consistent optical performance and durability. The LSZH sheathing reduces halogen emission and smoke generation in case of fire, meeting common industry safety requirements.
Route the BlueOptics AT-MTP12-30-BO cable between the required MTP-equipped ports, ensuring connectors are clean and free from dust or debris prior to mating. Align and insert MTP connectors according to the connector keying to avoid misalignment. Secure the cable to racks or cable management systems to prevent strain on connectors, and avoid tight bends below the manufacturer’s minimum bend radius to preserve optical performance. Verify link performance after installation using appropriate optical test equipment and the supplied input loss/return loss values.
Use microfiber cleaning tools or dedicated MPO/MTP cleaning kits before each connection, store the cable on reels or in loops to prevent kinks, and keep the LSZH jacket away from sharp edges.
