The BlueOptics CAB-OM3-SC-SC-3M-BO is a 3-meter OM3 multimode fibre optic patch cable with SC connectors on both ends. It supports full-duplex transmission and is intended for high-speed data links, connecting patch panels, optical transceivers or network ports in structured cabling environments. The cable uses laser-optimized OM3 multimode fibre and is sheathed in flame-retardant LSZH material for reduced smoke and no halogen release in the event of fire. Each cable is tested with interferometer and OTDR and supplied with measured input loss and return loss values, meeting Telcordia GR-326-Core requirements.

How to use

Route the 3 m SC–SC OM3 cable between corresponding SC ports, ensuring connectors are clean before insertion. Remove protective dust caps from both SC connectors and from the device port, inspect the connector endfaces for contamination or damage, and insert each connector until it clicks into the SC adapter or transceiver port. Avoid tight bends and secure the cable to prevent strain on the connector ends. When disconnecting, depress the SC latch and pull straight out to avoid damaging the ferrule.

Usage recommendations

For best optical performance, clean connector endfaces with appropriate fibre cleaning tools before each connection and maintain minimum bend radii recommended for multimode fibre. Use the supplied test report to confirm insertion loss and return loss values during installation and keep spare dust caps on unused ports to prevent contamination.
