The BlueOptics Aruba J4859D 1000BASE-LX SFP transceiver is a single‑mode fiber optic module with LC duplex connector designed for compatibility with HPE Aruba hardware that supports the original J4859D module. It transmits and receives at 1310 nm and supports data rates up to 1250 Mbit/s over distances up to 10 km according to MSA specifications. The module is lightweight (20 g) and manufactured to meet MSA and common industrial standards.
The BlueOptics Aruba J4859D SFP offers MSA-compliant interoperability with HPE Aruba platforms while using high-quality components that increase operational lifetime and reliability. It supports Digital Diagnostics Monitoring (DDM/DOM) for real-time monitoring of voltage, laser bias current, transmit power, receive power and temperature. Built to industry standards (CE, RoHS, FCC) and tested for compatibility, the module provides a cost-effective alternative to the original HPE Aruba J4859D 1000BASE-LX SFP.
Insert the SFP module into a compatible SFP port of an HPE Aruba switch, router or other supported device while the equipment is powered according to the vendor’s installation guidelines. Connect LC duplex single‑mode fiber patch cords to the TX and RX ports (observe correct polarity). If remote monitoring is required, ensure the host hardware supports DDM/DOM to read real‑time diagnostic parameters. Follow standard electrostatic discharge (ESD) precautions when handling the module.
To achieve optimal link quality and range, use single‑mode LC duplex patch cords of suitable attenuation and connect via a patch panel or directly to another compatible 1000BASE-LX SFP. Verify DDM/DOM support in the host device before relying on diagnostic readings. For long-term availability and minimized failures, plan for regular monitoring and use components that meet the same MSA and industrial standards.
