Network transceiver module BlueOptics PAN-QSFP-40GBASE-LM4-BO QSFP 40 Gbit/s Fiber optic
BlueOptics PAN-QSFP-40GBASE-LM4-BO is a QSFP fiber-optic transceiver module designed for 40 Gbit/s links. The module uses an LC duplex connector and supports 40GBASE-LX4 operation with four CWDM lanes, enabling multimode OM4 links up to 160 meters and single-mode fiber links up to approximately 2 kilometers. Housed in a metal case with a silver finish, this QSFP transceiver is intended for high-speed uplinks, data centre interconnects and other network hardware that accept QSFP 40G modules.
The transceiver supports up to 40,000 Mbit/s and implements digital diagnostics (DDM/DOM) for real-time monitoring of supply voltage, laser bias current, transmit power, receive power and temperature. It is manufactured to MSA compatibility and is tested for interoperability with systems that accept the equivalent 40GBASE-LX4 QSFP modules. Constructed with industry-grade components and a durable metal housing, it is intended for long operating life and high availability in high-speed networks.
This QSFP module uses the 40GBASE-LX4 specification and CWDM lanes; it is not suitable where a different optical standard (for example 10G-only SFP+ or other QSFP variants such as QSFP28 for 100G) is required. The stated reach differs between multimode and single-mode fiber—for distances beyond the specified single-mode range, a different module or amplifier may be needed.
Insert the QSFP module into a compatible QSFP port on a switch, router or other network device while the device is powered per the vendor’s instructions. Connect LC duplex patch cords to the module—observe correct transmit/receive orientation and use appropriate multimode or single-mode cable according to the link plan. If DDM/DOM monitoring is required, enable or verify support for diagnostics on the host device to read real-time parameters for maintenance and troubleshooting.
Use certified LC duplex fibre patch cords and, where possible, patch panels to achieve optimal link quality. Test the module in your environment before large-scale deployment to confirm compatibility and performance.
