The BlueOptics QSFP-100G-BIDI-G2-BO network transceiver module is a QSFP28 fiber-optic module designed for 100 Gbit/s links over multimode fiber using a bidirectional (BiDi) LC duplex interface. The silver, compact module supports high-density installations and is designed for use in common network platforms such as switches, routers, storage systems and other data centre hardware. It is CE, FCC and RoHS compliant, weighs 40 g and is specified with a high MTBF to support continuous operation.
The module provides a 100000 Mbit/s maximum data transfer rate in a QSFP28 form factor and implements bidirectional optical transmission to reduce fiber count. It is built to MSA-compatible mechanical and electrical specifications to ensure interoperability with compatible hardware. Components are selected to offer a long service life and the product includes digital diagnostics monitoring (DDM/DOM) for real-time status information such as supply voltage, laser current, transmit/receive power and temperature.
Install the BlueOptics QSFP-100G-BIDI-G2-BO into any compatible QSFP28 port following the host equipment manufacturer’s hot-swap procedures. Connect LC duplex multimode fiber patch cables to the module’s LC ports, observing correct fiber polarity for BiDi links. Verify that the switch or router firmware supports third-party QSFP28 BiDi modules and, if needed, enable DDM/DOM monitoring in the host to read real-time optical parameters. Perform link tests and confirm 100G operation via the host management interface.
Use high-quality multimode LC duplex patch cables and route them to minimise bend radius and mechanical stress. Ensure the host device supports DDM/DOM to take advantage of real-time diagnostics. For reliable operation, operate the module within the environmental and optical budgets specified by your platform and follow the vendor guidelines for cleaning LC connectors before connection.
