Network transceiver module BlueOptics QSFP-40G-LM4-BO QSFP fiber optic 40 Mbit/s
BlueOptics QSFP-40G-LM4-BO is a metal-housed QSFP fiber optic transceiver module that supports a 40 Mbit/s data rate and uses an LC Duplex connector. It implements the 40GBASE-LX4 optical standard with CWDM transmit and receive channels and is designed for use in high-density switches, routers and other network equipment that accept QSFP 40GBASE-LX4 optics. The module supports both multimode and single-mode fiber links and includes Digital Diagnostics Monitoring (DDM/DOM) for real-time status of supply voltage, laser bias current, optical output and input power, and temperature.
The module is manufactured to MSA QSFP standards and is tested for compatibility with major Dell platforms. It uses high-quality components from established suppliers, offers an MTBF around 1,000,000 hours and a projected lifecycle of approximately 10 years, and supports Ethernet, FCoE or SDH/SONET applications at up to 40 Gbit/s over distances up to 2 km. DDM simplifies monitoring and maintenance of optical links.
This transceiver is not suitable for hardware that does not support QSFP 40GBASE-LX4 modules or for applications that require speeds other than up to 40 Gbit/s. It also requires compatible DDM/DOM support in the host device to use the diagnostic features.
Install the QSFP module into a compatible QSFP slot on your switch, router or storage device following the host vendor’s instructions. Connect fibers using LC Duplex patch cords and ensure correct polarity. Verify that the host device supports 40GBASE-LX4 and DDM/DOM if diagnostics are required. After insertion, check link status and diagnostic values in the host management interface.
Use factory-tested LC Duplex fiber patch cords and, where possible, connect via a patch panel to maintain optimal optical performance. Request a sample to validate compatibility with your specific Dell platform before large deployments.
