The BlueOptics SFP5252EU40MKB is a 40 m OM3 multimode fibre optic MPO trunk cable designed for InfiniBand and high-speed data transmission. It uses MPO/UPC to MPO/UPC connectors (without pins) and contains 12 fibres with a 50/125 µm multimode core, optimized for 850 nm operation. The cable features an LSZH (Low Smoke Zero Halogen) jacket, low insertion loss and high return loss, and is manufactured and tested to industry standards to support reliable optical links between network components and MPO cassettes.
The trunk cable provides a compact, pre-terminated solution that eliminates splicing and reduces installation time and the need for special tools or extensive technician training. High-quality fibres and branded connectors with zirconia ceramic ferrules ensure low attenuation and stable performance through many mating cycles. Each cable is factory-tested with interferometry and OTDR and shipped with measured insertion loss and return loss values to ensure consistent transmission quality.
Install the BlueOptics OM3 MPO trunk cable by connecting each MPO end to compatible MPO ports or cassettes in your patch panels or network devices. Ensure correct orientation of the MPO connectors (key up/key down) and that ports are free of dust and contamination before mating. Route the cable following data center bend-radius guidelines and secure it to avoid strain or tight bends. No splicing or field termination is required; verify link performance using the included test report or perform an acceptance test with appropriate optical test equipment.
Handle MPO connectors with care, use dust caps until final installation, and perform cleaning with approved fibre cleaning tools before making connections. Follow installation standards for bend radius and cable management. For critical links, validate end-to-end loss with an OTDR or insertion-loss tester after installation and periodically inspect connectors to maintain optimal performance.
