BlueOptics MPO/UPC to MPO/UPC Multimode OM3 Trunk Cable 10 m, 12-core, 50/125 µm G50, 3.0 mm LSZH (V04YD-BO)
BlueOptics MPO/UPC to MPO/UPC Multimode OM3 Trunk Cable 10 m is a factory-terminated 12-core multimode fiber trunk designed for high-density, high-speed multimode links. The cable uses OM3 (50/125 µm G50) multimode fibers and MPO/UPC connectors on both ends, Type B polarity and connectors without pins, enclosed in a 3.0 mm LSZH aqua jacket. With a 10 m length and included measurement protocol, this trunk cable is intended for reliable interconnection in data centers, backbone runs and patch panels where short to medium multimode distances and high channel counts are required.
The trunk cable provides a compact 12-fiber MPO termination that simplifies installation and reduces cable bulk compared to multiple simplex cables. OM3 multimode fiber supports high bandwidth for short-reach 10/40/100 Gbps multimode applications, while the LSZH jacket reduces smoke and toxic gas emission in case of fire, making it suitable for indoor installations. Factory-terminated MPO/UPC connectors ensure consistent optical performance and the supplied measurement protocol documents insertion loss values for quality assurance.
Route the trunk cable along the planned pathway, avoiding tight bends and preventing crushing; maintain the manufacturer’s minimum bend radius for multimode fiber. Align the MPO connectors with the corresponding MPO adapter or cassette in the patch panel, ensuring correct Type B polarity orientation. Plug the MPO/UPC connector straight into the MPO receptacle until it seats; do not force. Verify the link using the provided measurement protocol and, if necessary, perform additional insertion loss or continuity tests as part of site commissioning.
Store and handle the cable in a clean environment to avoid contamination of the MPO/UPC endfaces. Use protective caps on unused connectors, keep bend radius above the recommended minimum, and follow data center cabling standards for routing and labeling. For optimum performance in 40G and 100G multimode applications, ensure transceiver and trunk polarity compatibility and validate links after installation.
