USB hub c-tech UHB-U2 — 4x USB 2.0 ports, powered via host
USB hub c-tech UHB-U2 — 4x USB 2.0 ports, powered via host
c-tech UHB-U2 is a compact 4-port USB 2.0 hub that expands a single USB-A connection into four standard USB-A ports. It enables connection of multiple low-power USB peripherals — such as flash drives, keyboards, mice and basic accessories — to laptops, desktops or other host devices without requiring a separate power adapter. The hub is bus-powered from the host and offers plug-and-play compatibility with operating systems that support USB 2.0.
This USB hub provides a simple and reliable way to increase the number of available USB-A ports. Its compact footprint and lightweight construction make it convenient for travel and use on cluttered desks. As a USB 2.0 device, it supports backward and forward compatibility with USB peripherals that operate within USB 2.0 speed and power limits, and requires no driver installation for most modern systems.
The c-tech UHB-U2 is bus-powered and shares the host port’s available current among all connected devices, so it may not be suitable for high-current devices such as external hard drives that require dedicated power, certain high-power charging tasks, or multiple power-hungry peripherals used simultaneously. It also provides USB 2.0 transfer rates, which are significantly lower than USB 3.x speeds, so it is not the best choice when high-bandwidth data transfer is required.
Plug the hub’s USB-A connector into an available USB port on your computer or host device. Connect up to four USB-A peripherals to the hub’s ports. The host system should detect connected devices automatically and install any necessary generic drivers. Avoid connecting multiple high-power devices simultaneously; if a connected device does not receive sufficient power or is unstable, connect it directly to a powered USB port or use a powered hub instead.
Use the c-tech UHB-U2 for low-power peripherals and general USB port expansion. For external hard drives, intensive data transfer, or charging multiple devices, choose a powered hub or a hub with USB 3.x support to ensure stable performance.
