C2G OM4 LC/LC Fibre Patch Cable 3m Purple LSZH Duplex 50/125 Multimode

The C2G OM4 LC/LC Fibre Patch Cable 3m Purple LSZH Duplex 50/125 Multimode is a high-performance optical fibre solution designed to facilitate reliable data transfer in demanding network environments. Measuring 3.05 metres in length, this purple patch cable features LC connectors on both ends and utilizes a 50/125 micrometre core and cladding construction, making it well-suited for high-density applications in data centres, enterprise networks, and telecommunication rooms.

Advantages

This fibre patch cable is engineered to meet rigorous OM4 transmission standards, delivering the performance headroom necessary to support modern high-speed optical transceivers. Its duplex configuration allows simultaneous bidirectional data transmission. The inclusion of a Low Smoke Zero Halogen jacket ensures increased safety in poorly ventilated areas by emitting limited smoke and no halogen when exposed to high sources of heat or fire. Additionally, the cable offers backward compatibility with existing 50/125 equipment, ensuring seamless integration into current network infrastructures.

Suitable for

• Connecting 40GBase-SR4 and 100GBase-SR10 network equipment
• Linking SFP+ and QSFP+ transceivers
• High-speed data transmission in data centres and enterprise local area networks
• Wiring closets requiring OM4 multimode fibre performance

When it may not be suitable

This product is not designed for single-mode fibre optic infrastructures and will not be compatible with single-mode transceivers or long-distance outdoor telecommunication lines. It is also unsuitable for environments requiring standard PVC-jacketed cables where LSZH compliance is not a priority or requirement.

How to use

To use the fibre patch cable, carefully remove it from its packaging and inspect the LC connectors for any dust or debris. Clean the optical end-faces using approved fibre optic cleaning tools if necessary. Align the LC connector with the port on your network device, such as a switch, patch panel, or transceiver, and push gently until it clicks securely into place. Repeat the process for the opposite end of the cable. Ensure the cable is not bent beyond its minimum bend radius to prevent signal loss or physical damage.

What to consider before purchase

• Verify that your network hardware uses LC type interfaces
• Confirm that your system requires OM4 multimode 50/125 specifications
• Measure the required distance to ensure the 3.05-metre length is adequate for your cable run
• Check local building and safety codes regarding the necessity of Low Smoke Zero Halogen jackets

Always maintain proper cable management practices, avoid sharp bends, and use protective dust caps on connectors when the cable is temporarily disconnected to maintain optimal signal integrity.
