Binoculars Celestron Nature DX 10x42, 10× magnification, 42 mm objective, BaK-4 prism, green/black
The Celestron Nature DX 10x42 binoculars offer 10× magnification with 42 mm objective lenses and high-quality BaK-4 prisms to deliver clear, bright images for birdwatching, nature observation and outdoor sports. Designed as an entry-level to intermediate sport optic, these binoculars combine phase-coated prisms and fully multi-coated lenses to increase contrast and light transmission. Their compact, rubber-armored polycarbonate housing is waterproof, fogproof and nitrogen-purged, making them suitable for field use and travel.
Phase-coated BaK-4 prisms and fully multi-coated optics improve contrast, resolution and overall brightness, especially in low-light conditions. The 10× magnification with a 42 mm objective provides a balance between reach and ease of handheld use, while a close focus of 6.5 feet allows detailed views of nearby subjects. The durable rubber-armored body, twist-up eyecups with multiple stops and eyeglass-friendly eye relief make these binoculars practical and comfortable for a wide range of users.
These binoculars are designed as an entry-level to intermediate optic and may not meet the demands of professional or specialized users who require extreme magnification, the largest possible objective lenses for very low-light performance, or advanced image stabilization systems. For long-duration digiscoping or gallery-level nature photography, a dedicated spotting scope or camera setup could be more appropriate.
Adjust the interpupillary distance until you see a single circular field of view. Use the central focus wheel to bring subjects into sharp focus, then fine-tune with the diopter adjustment for any difference between your eyes. Twist up or down the eyecups to achieve correct eye positioning, especially if you wear eyeglasses. For distant subjects hold the binoculars steady with both hands or use a tripod adapter if extended stability is needed.
For best results in the field, keep lenses clean and dry, store the binoculars in a padded case when not in use, and consider using a strap or harness to reduce fatigue during long outings. For steady views at high magnification, mount the binoculars on a tripod adapter when available.
