Network transceiver module Cisco 100GQSFP-SR1.2-4= QSFP28 100 Gbit/s Fiber optic LC multimode
Cisco 100GQSFP-SR1.2-4= is a QSFP28 fiber-optic transceiver module engineered for short-reach multimode links and high-density 100 Gbit/s networks. The module supports 100GbE transmission over multimode fiber using LC connectors, fits standard QSFP28 ports and is intended for integration into switches, routers and server network interfaces. Typical deployments include data center uplinks, aggregation fabrics and high-speed server interconnects where compact, hot-pluggable, multi-lane optics are required.
The module delivers 100 Gbit/s aggregate throughput in a QSFP28 form factor, enabling four lanes of parallel multimode transmission in a single port. Its LC multimode interface and short-reach optics allow dense 100GbE connections between adjacent racks or within data halls. Being hot-pluggable and designed for standard QSFP28 ports, it simplifies installation and replacement while supporting common multimode fiber types for distances typical to enterprise and campus data centers.
This transceiver is optimized for short-reach multimode fiber and LC connections; it is not intended for long-haul or single-mode fiber deployments. If your network requires extended distances beyond the multimode short-reach range or uses single-mode transceivers and LC/UPC incompatible link pairs, this module will not meet those needs.
Install the QSFP28 transceiver into a compatible QSFP28 port on the switch, router or server network adapter while the host device is powered on or according to the device vendor’s hot-swap guidance. Connect multimode LC duplex patch cables between the transceiver and the remote port. Allow the device to negotiate link parameters and verify link status via the host port indicators or management interface. For reliable operation, use fiber patch cords and cabling that meet multimode specifications and maintain clean connector endfaces.
Use this QSFP28 module for dense 100GbE links inside data centers and aggregation zones where multimode LC cabling is already deployed. Keep fiber connectors clean, follow vendor guidance for transceiver compatibility, and monitor link status after installation to confirm expected throughput and error rates.
