The Cisco Catalyst 9300 Series Switches are a stackable enterprise switching platform designed for security, IoT, mobility and cloud. As the next generation of Cisco’s widely deployed switching platform, Catalyst 9300 switches provide high-density stacking bandwidth (up to 480 Gbps), flexible uplink options and an x86 CPU architecture with increased memory to host containers and run third-party applications natively on the switch. They are optimized for high-density 802.11ac Wave 2 deployments and form the foundational building block for Software-Defined Access (SD-Access) within Cisco Digital Network Architecture (Cisco DNA).
The Catalyst 9300 Series delivers high stacking bandwidth and a resilient stackable architecture with support for StackWise technology, nonstop forwarding with Stateful Switchover (NSF/SSO) and a sub-50-ms failover design. The platform supports Cisco StackPower for efficient power sharing and offers high-density Cisco UPOE and PoE+ ports. Cisco IOS XE provides programmability, enhanced security features and native IoT convergence, while the UADP 2.0 silicon protects investment by enabling greater scale and throughput.
Deploy Catalyst 9300 switches as access-layer or aggregation-layer devices within an enterprise network fabric to support wired and high-density wireless access. Use StackWise for stacking multiple switches to form a single logical unit, enable NSF/SSO for continuous forwarding during control-plane failures, and configure StackPower to manage power sharing across the stack. Use Cisco IOS XE programmability and the x86 platform to host approved containerized applications or scripts, following Cisco guidelines for third-party software on the switch.
