Network switch Cisco Catalyst C9300L-48UXG-2Q-E Managed L2/L3 48x 10G RJ-45 PoE
The Cisco Catalyst C9300L-48UXG-2Q-E is a managed L2/L3 stackable enterprise switch designed for secure, high-performance access networks. It provides 48 10G-capable RJ‑45 ports for copper Ethernet, high switching capacity, and support for Power over Ethernet to power connected devices. Built on the Catalyst 9300 family, the switch supports modern programmability, stacking, and features required for Software-Defined Access (SD-Access) and converged wired and wireless management.
This switch delivers high-density 10G Ethernet connectivity with full-duplex performance, a large MAC address table, and robust switching capacity suitable for demanding access aggregation. It supports advanced Cisco features including stackability for up to 1 Tbps stacking bandwidth, resilient nonstop forwarding with Stateful Switchover, flexible PoE options for powered devices, and an x86-based architecture that enables programmability and third-party applications on the device.
This model is optimized for environments that require high-density 10G copper access and advanced Cisco feature sets; it may be excessive for small offices with only gigabit needs or for deployments that require purely fiber-only access without copper 10G ports. Also, if you require very large core switching capacity beyond access/aggregation roles, a different platform may be more appropriate.
Install the switch in a standard 19" rack using the included mounting hardware and connect power and network cabling. Configure stacking if multiple switches will form a single logical unit and enable Cisco IOS XE features required for your deployment, such as L2/L3 routing, VLANs, QoS, security policies and PoE settings. Use Cisco DNA management tools or traditional CLI/GUI methods to apply policies and monitor performance. For PoE devices, verify power budgets and enable required PoE profiles.
For reliable operation in enterprise access roles, keep IOS XE updated, size PoE budgets conservatively, and use stacking and StackPower to provide redundancy. When integrating with Cisco DNA and SD-Access, standardize VLANs and group-based policies to simplify management across wired and wireless devices.
