Managed L3 Switch Cisco Catalyst C9300X-48HX-E PoE 48 Ports
Managed L3 Switch Cisco Catalyst C9300X-48HX-E PoE 48 Ports
The Cisco Catalyst C9300X-48HX-E PoE 48 Ports is a managed Layer 3 enterprise switch engineered for high-performance access and aggregation in campus and branch networks. This model provides 48 RJ‑45 ports with Power over Ethernet (PoE) capability, 10G uplink support and a switching capacity of 2000 Gbit/s. With a MAC address table that supports up to 32,000 entries and compatibility with a wide range of IEEE networking standards, the switch is suitable for demanding environments that require reliable connectivity, hardware-based forwarding and advanced traffic handling.
The Catalyst C9300X-48HX-E combines high-density PoE, robust Layer 3 functionality and 10G support in a single chassis, enabling simplified deployment for voice, wireless access points, IoT devices and security appliances. Its large MAC table and substantial switching capacity allow the device to maintain low latency under heavy loads while preserving frame forwarding and access control. The switch also integrates with software-driven network architectures to support automated configuration and policy enforcement.
Install the switch in a standard 19-inch rack using the included mounting brackets and ensure adequate ventilation. Connect power and enable PoE according to the powered device requirements. Use the console port or web/SSH management interfaces to perform initial configuration: set management IP addressing, configure VLANs, enable Layer 3 routing protocols or static routes, and apply QoS policies as required. Integrate the switch with your network management or controller platform to enable centralized policy, monitoring and firmware updates.
For stable operation, deploy the switch in a temperature-controlled environment and use properly rated Cat5e/Cat6 cables for PoE and 1G links; use Cat6a or fiber for 10G uplinks. Plan PoE power budgets to avoid exceeding available power per port and reserve capacity for peak device needs. When using the switch in critical networks, enable redundancy features and integrate with centralized software-defined access or network management tools to automate configuration and monitoring.
