The Cisco Catalyst 9500 Series is a next-generation enterprise-class core and aggregation switch platform designed for programmability, serviceability, security, IoT and cloud deployments. The Catalyst 9500 16-PORT 10GIG (C9500-16X-A) model is a fixed managed switch based on an x86 CPU with a 4-core 2.4 GHz processor, 16 GB DDR4 memory and 16 GB internal storage. It provides high-density 10G connectivity and is intended for placement in the campus core and aggregation layers.

Advantages

The switch offers nonblocking 40G QSFP+ and 1G/10G SFP/SFP+ architectural design with large MAC, route and ACL table scale and enterprise-grade buffering. It supports advanced routing and infrastructure services including MPLS Layer 2/3 VPNs, Multicast VPN (MVPN) and NAT, as well as software-defined access border features such as host tracking, cross-domain connectivity and VRF-aware LISP.
