The Cisco GLC-TE is an SFP transceiver module designed for Gigabit Ethernet applications over copper cabling. It provides a 1 Gbps data rate and supports link distances up to 100 meters on standard Cat5e/Cat6 twisted-pair copper cables. The module fits standard SFP ports and is intended for use in switches, routers and other network equipment that accept small form-factor pluggable transceivers.

How to use

Insert the module into an available SFP port on compatible network equipment until it clicks into place. Connect a Category 5e or Category 6 RJ-45 patch cable between the transceiver and the remote device. Remove the module by pressing the release latch and gently pulling it from the port while the device is powered down or following the equipment vendor's hot-swap guidance.
