Managed L3 Gigabit Ethernet Switch Cisco Catalyst IE-3300-8T2X-E 8 Ports
The Cisco Catalyst IE-3300-8T2X-E is a managed Layer 3 industrial Gigabit Ethernet switch in a compact rugged chassis. It provides eight Gigabit RJ-45 ports with full-duplex operation, optional 10G uplink support via expansion modules, and a MAC address table of 8000 entries. Designed for harsh environments, the IE-3300 series supports modular expansion up to 24–26 ports depending on module configuration, runs Cisco IOS XE with secure boot and signed images, and integrates with management tools such as Cisco DNA Center, Cisco Industrial Network Director and a modern WebUI for simplified setup.
The switch combines industrial-grade mechanical and environmental design with enterprise-class software features including API-driven configuration, built-in security features (secure boot, image signing, Trust Anchor Module), and support for Full Flexible NetFlow for traffic visibility. It offers PoE/PoE+ and higher PoE budgets when using expansion modules, flexible port-count expansion options, and compatibility with a wide set of IEEE networking standards for reliable deployment in manufacturing, transportation, energy, and extended enterprise sites.
Install the IE-3300-8T2X-E in a suitable industrial rack or mounting location following Cisco mounting instructions and provide DC power within the specified 9.6–60 V range. Connect end devices to the eight Gigabit RJ-45 ports and add expansion modules if additional Gigabit or 10G ports are required. Configure the switch using Cisco IOS XE via the CLI, WebUI, or APIs, and integrate with Cisco DNA Center or Cisco Industrial Network Director for centralized management. Enable PoE if powering devices such as IP cameras or access points, and monitor traffic using Flexible NetFlow and network management tools.
For deployments with many high-power PoE devices (PTZ cameras, high-end wireless APs), use the appropriate expansion module and verify the 10G series power budget and local safety/compliance requirements; keep firmware up to date and enable secure boot and image signing for hardened operation.
