Managed Switch Cisco Catalyst IE3300
The Cisco Catalyst IE3300 Rugged Series is a managed industrial Gigabit Ethernet switch designed for space- and power-constrained installations. The modular platform supports up to 26 Gigabit Ethernet ports in a compact die-cast chassis and offers up to 24 ports of PoE/PoE+ with a shared power budget of 360 W. It runs Cisco IOS XE to provide an open, extensible operating system with standard APIs and multilayer security suitable for industrial Ethernet deployments.
The modular design allows selection of copper, fiber, and PoE modules to match connectivity requirements while helping protect investments. High-density PoE/PoE+ capability simplifies deployments by supplying data and power over a single cable to devices such as Wi‑Fi access points and IP cameras. The all-Gigabit architecture supports up to 26 ports for higher throughput, and the compact, rugged die-cast form factor is optimized for harsh environments and cabinet-constrained locations.
Install the Cisco Catalyst IE3300 in a suitable industrial cabinet or rack location, ensuring DC power within the specified 9.6–60 V range is available. Select and fit the required I/O and PoE modules to provide the necessary copper or fiber connectivity. Connect endpoints to the Gigabit RJ-45 ports and configure the switch using Cisco IOS XE via the management interface (CLI, NETCONF/RESTCONF or other supported APIs). Configure VLANs, QoS and PoE power allocation according to device requirements and network design.
Place the switch in a location with adequate airflow and stable DC power. Plan PoE budgets before deployment to ensure critical devices receive sufficient power, and use Cisco IOS XE automation and monitoring tools to maintain firmware updates and consistent configuration across industrial sites.
