Managed Switch Cisco Catalyst IE3300 L2 16x Gigabit Ethernet Black
The Cisco Catalyst IE3300 Rugged Series is a managed Layer 2 industrial switch that provides full Gigabit Ethernet connectivity in a compact, rugged form factor. The platform supports modular expansion up to 26 Gigabit ports and is designed to optimize size, power and performance for industrial deployments. It can supply up to 24 ports of PoE/PoE+ with a shared power budget of 360 W, and runs on Cisco IOS XE to enable automation, open APIs and multilayer security for industrial network applications.
The modular design offers multiple module choices including copper, fiber and PoE options, allowing adaptation to changing connectivity needs without replacing the entire platform. High-density PoE/PoE+ capability reduces cabling complexity by delivering both power and data over the same connections, suitable for devices such as access points and IP cameras. The all-Gigabit architecture supports upgrade to higher-speed IoT and industrial network traffic, while the compact die-cast chassis is built for constrained cabinet spaces and harsh environments. Cisco IOS XE provides an extensible and programmable software stack with built-in security features and API support for automation.
Install the switch in the network cabinet or enclosure following standard industrial mounting practices and connect DC power within the specified 9.6–60 V range. Populate the required modular slots with copper, fiber or PoE modules as needed, then connect devices to the Gigabit ports. Configure Layer 2 settings, VLANs, PoE priorities and security policies through the Cisco IOS XE command-line interface, web UI or supported APIs. Use the management features to monitor port status, power consumption and network events.
For reliable PoE operation, plan power allocation across PoE ports to remain within the 360 W shared budget and set PoE priorities where necessary; use appropriately rated power inputs and environmental protection measures when deploying in harsh or space-constrained sites.
