The Cudy GS1016L is a 16-port Gigabit Ethernet switch offering basic managed features for small office and home networks. It provides sixteen RJ-45 Gigabit (10/100/1000) ports, a MAC address table of 8192 entries and a switching capacity of 32 Gbit/s. The switch supports standard networking protocols and can be installed on a desktop or mounted in a rack; it is powered by an included AC adapter and features a fanless design.

How to use

Place the switch on a stable surface or mount it in a standard rack. Connect uplink to your router or core switch via one of the Gigabit ports and attach client devices to the remaining ports. Use the VLAN mode to separate client-side traffic from other network segments, or select Extend mode on ports 1–14 when you need to increase copper distance—note that those ports will run at 10 Mbps in Extend mode. Configure QoS and multicast behavior according to your network requirements; loop prevention operates automatically to block ports if a loop is detected.

Usage recommendations

For longer cable runs use quality CAT5e/CAT6 cabling and enable Extend mode only when necessary; when performance and full gigabit speed are required, keep devices within standard Ethernet distances and use Default mode. Use VLAN mode to protect client devices from each other in shared network scenarios.
