The Cudy MC100SA-20 Network Media Converter converts between 100 Mbit/s Ethernet and single-mode fiber (1310 nm) to extend network links up to 20,000 m. Housed in a metal case with LED indicators and support for plug-and-play operation, the converter includes one RJ-45 Ethernet port and one SC fiber port and is designed for indoor and outdoor installation with an input voltage range of 100–240 V and typical power consumption ≤3 W.

Advantages

Multi-layer protection provides surge and lightning protection, strong interference suppression and stable, high-speed signal conversion. High-visibility LEDs show fiber and Ethernet status, link/activity, duplex state and power. The metal enclosure improves heat dissipation and durability. The unit supports jumbo frames (9 KB), has a 2 Mbit RAM buffer and a mean time between failures greater than 50,000 hours.

How to use

Install the converter in a dry, ventilated location. Connect the single-mode SC fiber cable (1310 nm) to the fiber port and the Ethernet cable to the RJ-45 port. Apply mains power using the supported 100–240 V supply and the included DC 5 V adapter if provided. Monitor the LEDs: FP indicates fiber speed, TP indicates Ethernet speed, Link/ACT flashes on activity, FDX shows duplex mode and PWR shows power presence. The device is plug-and-play and requires no additional software; hot-swap of links is supported.
