SFP transceiver module D-Link DEM-311GT
The D-Link DEM-311GT is an SFP (mini-GBIC) fiber optic transceiver module that supports 1 Gbit/s full-duplex transmission over multimode fiber. It operates at an 850 nm wavelength and provides link distances up to 220 m on 62.5 µm fiber and up to 550 m on 50 µm fiber. The compact module has a metal housing that reduces electromagnetic interference and increases mechanical durability. It is hot-pluggable and compliant with MSA and RoHS standards; dimensions are 13.8 mm × 57.2 mm × 8.5 mm, and the maximum supply voltage is 6 V.
The DEM-311GT combines gigabit performance and compatibility in a small, industry-standard SFP form factor. Its metal casing improves EMI shielding and robustness for stable operation in rack environments. The transceiver’s hot-pluggable design allows easy installation or replacement without powering down equipment. Compliance with MSA and RoHS ensures interoperability and reduced environmental impact.
Insert the DEM-311GT into an available SFP slot on compatible network equipment until it seats securely; the module is hot-pluggable so it can be installed or removed while the host device is powered. Connect appropriate multimode fiber patch cables (LC connectors) and verify link LEDs and device software for proper negotiation at 1 Gbit/s. Follow the switch or server vendor’s guidance for SFP handling, ESD precautions and firmware compatibility.
Use the DEM-311GT with matching multimode fiber type (50 µm or 62.5 µm) to achieve the stated distances, and ensure LC-terminated patch cords and SFP slots support gigabit operation. Avoid excessive mechanical stress on the module and observe ESD safety when handling.
