Managed L2+ Gigabit Ethernet Switch D-Link DGS-1210-28/ME/E — 24x RJ-45 10/100/1000, 1U, rack-mount, 56 Gbit/s
The D-Link DGS-1210-28/ME/E is a managed L2+ rack-mount Ethernet switch designed for access and distribution layers in small to medium enterprise networks. It provides 24 Gigabit RJ-45 ports (10/100/1000) in a 1U chassis, an RJ-45 console port, a 16,000-entry MAC address table and a switching capacity of 56 Gbit/s. The switch implements common Layer 2 features including IEEE 802.1Q VLAN tagging, 802.1p QoS, 802.1x access control and multiple Spanning Tree variants for resilience and loop prevention.
The device offers full-duplex Gigabit connectivity across 24 copper ports with a compact, rack-mountable 1U form factor and a total switching capacity of 56 Gbit/s. Hardware support for standard L2 functions, traffic shaping and bandwidth control enables predictable throughput and better handling of mixed traffic types. Security and access features such as 802.1x and VLAN segmentation help isolate network segments while Spanning Tree and link aggregation support improve redundancy and link utilization.
Install the DGS-1210-28/ME/E in a standard 19-inch rack using the included mounting brackets. Connect network devices to the 24 Gigabit RJ-45 ports and access the switch management via the console port or supported management interfaces. Configure VLANs, QoS policies and 802.1x authentication according to site requirements; enable Spanning Tree and link aggregation where network topology or redundancy is required. Use the MAC table and port statistics in the management interface to monitor connected devices and traffic patterns.
For predictable performance, enable bandwidth control and QoS classifications when deploying latency-sensitive services such as VoIP or IPTV. Use VLANs to separate user groups and enable 802.1x for port-level access control. Where higher availability is needed, configure link aggregation and Spanning Tree protocol variants to provide alternate Layer 2 paths.
