Managed Switch D-Link DGS-2000-10P
The D-Link DGS-2000-10P is a managed Layer 2 / Layer 3 Lite Gigabit switch designed for enterprise access layer deployments. It provides eight Gigabit Ethernet RJ-45 ports with PoE support and two 100/1000 Mbps SFP uplink ports, a switching capacity of 20 Gbit/s, and compatibility with IEEE networking standards. The switch is rack-mountable and intended to deliver reliable network connectivity, PoE power distribution and basic L2/L3 manageability for small to medium business networks.
The DGS-2000-10P combines PoE power delivery (IEEE 802.3af/at) with advanced Layer 2 features and Layer 3 Lite manageability, providing integrated power and traffic control in one unit. It supports link aggregation (LACP), Spanning Tree Protocol (STP), IGMP snooping, port mirroring and IEEE 802.3x flow control for improved availability and predictable data transfer. Built-in diagnostics such as cable testing and loopback detection speed up maintenance, while D-Link’s Safeguard Engine and ACL-based 802.1X integration add protection against common network attacks.
Install the DGS-2000-10P in a standard rack or on a shelf and connect the uplink SFP or RJ-45 port to your core network. Connect PoE-enabled devices to the Gigabit RJ-45 ports; the switch will negotiate PoE power automatically with IEEE 802.3af/at devices and manage power distribution via LLDP for PoE+. Use the D-Link Network Assistant (DNA), web GUI, or CLI (SSH/Telnet/console) to discover the switch, configure VLANs, QoS (Auto Voice/Auto Surveillance VLAN), LACP, STP, ACLs and 802.1X authentication according to your network design. Run cable diagnostics and loopback detection when troubleshooting physical link issues.
For deployments with multiple PoE devices, verify total PoE power consumption against the 370 W budget and use LLDP to ensure correct power allocation. Enable IGMP snooping for multicast traffic (surveillance) and configure Auto Voice/Auto Surveillance VLANs to prioritise VoIP and camera streams. Use periodic cable diagnostics and enable loopback detection to reduce downtime in mission-critical environments.
