Unmanaged Switch D-Link DGS-108 L2 Gigabit Ethernet 8 Ports
The D-Link DGS-108 is an unmanaged L2 gigabit Ethernet switch with eight 10/100/1000 Mbps RJ-45 ports providing up to 2000 Mbps aggregate throughput per port in full-duplex mode. It offers a MAC address table capable of 8000 entries and a switching capacity suitable for small to medium-sized networks that require reliable, low-latency connectivity. The front panel includes two-color LED indicators per port for quick link and activity status, and the rear panel includes a Kensington security slot for physical fastening.
The switch supports IEEE 802.1p quality of service for prioritizing time-sensitive traffic such as streaming media, VoIP, and gaming. Energy-efficient features include IEEE 802.3az (Energy-Efficient Ethernet) and cable-length detection, which reduce power consumption by powering down idle ports and adjusting power according to cable length. The device is plug-and-play and requires no configuration, while compliance with Energy Star Level V, CEC, MEPS, and RoHS standards reduces environmental impact.
Connect each network device to an available RJ-45 port using standard Ethernet cables. The switch operates in plug-and-play mode and does not require configuration; LED indicators display link and activity status. For best performance place the switch on a flat surface or secure it using the rear Kensington slot. Ensure the provided Energy Star Level V power adapter is used and connected to a suitable mains outlet.
To reduce power consumption and extend the product lifespan, connect devices with appropriate-length cables and allow the switch to manage idle ports via IEEE 802.3az. Place the switch in a ventilated area away from heat sources and use surge protection for the power supply.
