Network Switch D-Link GO-SW-5E/E Unmanaged Fast Ethernet 10/100, 5 Ports
The D-Link GO-SW-5E 5-Port Fast Ethernet Easy Desktop Switch is an unmanaged 10/100 Mbps switch designed for home and small office wired networks. It provides five auto-sensing Ethernet ports with LED status indicators, Auto MDI/MDIX support and Plug-and-Play operation to connect multiple computers, share an Internet connection, and improve local network performance without configuration.
The switch automatically negotiates link speed and duplex (10/100 Mbps, half/full) per port for optimal throughput and supports Auto MDI/MDIX so straight-through cables can be used for all connections. Built-in 802.3x flow control reduces packet loss under heavy load. Energy-saving D-Link Green features put unused or powered-off ports into low-power mode and adjust power based on cable length to reduce overall consumption. Its compact, fanless design keeps operation silent and allows convenient placement on a desk or shelf.
Place the switch on a flat surface and connect the external power adapter. Use standard twisted-pair Ethernet cables to connect computers, routers, or other network devices to any of the five RJ-45 ports; the ports will auto-sense speed and duplex and adjust automatically. For Internet sharing, connect one port to your router. No software configuration is required—devices will establish links automatically and LEDs indicate link status and activity.
For best performance, use quality Cat5e or better Ethernet cables and connect high-bandwidth devices to different ports to distribute load. Place the switch in a ventilated area and avoid stacking heavy objects on top. If you need managed features or gigabit speeds, consider a managed or gigabit switch instead.
