Switch D-Link GO-SW-5G Unmanaged Gigabit Ethernet
The D-Link GO-SW-5G Unmanaged Gigabit Ethernet Switch (GO-SW-5G/E) is a compact 5‑port desktop switch that provides Gigabit (10/100/1000 Mbps) wired connectivity for SOHO and small to medium businesses. This unmanaged switch offers a simple plug-and-play way to expand a network with five RJ-45 ports, a 10 Gbit/s switching capacity and a MAC address table supporting up to 4,000 entries. Designed for reliable basic switching, it supports full-duplex operation and common IEEE networking standards for compatibility.
The GO-SW-5G delivers high-speed wired connections for up to five devices while remaining easy to install and operate as an unmanaged switch. Energy-saving features including IEEE 802.3az (Energy-Efficient Ethernet), cable-length power adjustment and an Energy Star Level VI qualified adapter reduce power consumption and operating heat. The unit is RoHS compliant and packaged in recyclable materials, supporting lower environmental impact without adding configuration complexity.
Place the D-Link GO-SW-5G on a stable desktop surface and connect its power adapter to an AC outlet. Use standard Ethernet cables to connect network devices to the RJ-45 ports; the switch supports auto MDI/MDI-X so crossover cables are not required. The device is unmanaged and requires no software setup — connected devices will negotiate speed and duplex automatically. Use QoS-capable devices upstream if you need traffic prioritisation across the network.
The GO-SW-5G is best used where a simple, reliable Gigabit expansion is required. For deployments with heavy switching features, VLANs or advanced management needs, consider a managed switch. To maximise energy savings, locate the switch where cable lengths are appropriate and allow low-traffic ports to enter Energy-Efficient Ethernet modes.
