Network switch D-Link GO-SW-5E/E 5-port unmanaged Ethernet switch
D-Link GO-SW-5E/E 5-port unmanaged Ethernet switch is a compact, plug-and-play device that expands wired LAN connectivity with five 10/100 Mbps RJ45 ports. The switch requires no configuration and is intended for basic network extension where Power over Ethernet (PoE) is not needed. With an industry-standard form factor and low power consumption, the GO-SW-5E/E integrates into small office or home network environments to provide additional wired connections for computers, printers, NAS units and other Ethernet-capable devices.
The D-Link GO-SW-5E/E offers simple installation without management overhead, enabling immediate network extension by connecting devices to any of the five auto-negotiating RJ45 ports. Auto MDI/MDIX eliminates the need for crossover cables. Its compact footprint and fanless design reduce noise and energy usage. The switch supports 10/100 Mbps speeds per port and performs basic traffic forwarding with wire-speed performance for typical small network loads.
Place the switch on a stable, ventilated surface near your network devices and the existing router or modem. Connect the switch’s power adapter to mains power, then use standard Ethernet cables to attach devices to any of the five RJ45 ports. Link one port to your router or gateway to provide upstream network and Internet access to attached devices. The switch requires no setup; connected devices will obtain network connectivity automatically according to their configuration.
For reliable operation, use quality Cat5e or Cat6 cables and avoid placing the switch in enclosed, high-temperature environments. Because the GO-SW-5E/E does not provide PoE, use separate powered adapters for devices that require PoE. For networks with high simultaneous traffic or advanced management requirements, consider a managed or Gigabit switch instead.
