DATACOM STP Double Socket Cat5e Above The Plaster 45 Degrees White 2 x RJ45 Shielded LSA

The DATACOM STP Double Socket Cat5e Above The Plaster 45 Degrees White 2 x RJ45 Shielded LSA is a surface-mounted telecommunication outlet designed for reliable network installations. Featuring a durable white finish and a robust metal interior, this double socket provides protected network connections for demanding environments. It is equipped with two shielded RJ45 ports angled at 45 degrees, which helps reduce cable bending and saves space in tight installation areas. The integrated LSA termination field allows for secure and tool-free wire connection using standard punch-down tools.

Advantages

This surface-mounted Cat5e socket offers high resistance to electromagnetic interference thanks to its fully shielded ports and metal interior, ensuring stable data transmission speeds. The 45-degree angled design prevents excessive strain on patch cords and protects connected cables from accidental damage. The straightforward above-the-plaster mounting makes it an efficient solution for rooms where in-wall cabling is not feasible. Furthermore, the reliable LSA termination field simplifies the installation process for network technicians.

Suitable for

• Surface-mounted network installations in offices and homes
• Connecting computers, printers, and IP devices to a local network
• Environments requiring electromagnetic interference protection
• Spaces where cable bending needs to be minimized using a 45-degree angle

When it may not be suitable

This product is not designed for flush-mounted or recessed wall installations since it is specifically engineered for above-the-plaster surface mounting. It may also not be appropriate for high-speed Cat6 or Cat7 network infrastructures that exceed Cat5e performance capabilities.

Key specifications

• Category 5e performance
• Two shielded RJ45 ports
• 45-degree angled port orientation
• Above-the-plaster surface mounting design
• Integrated LSA telecommunication termination field
• Durable metal interior structure
• White finish

How to use

Begin by securing the surface housing to the wall using appropriate fasteners. Strip the outer jacket of the incoming installation cable and route the individual conductors to the LSA termination field. Use a standard LSA punch-down tool to press each wire firmly into the corresponding terminal slots, ensuring proper contact with the insulation displacement connectors. Assemble the metal interior and the white plastic cover securely, then connect your shielded patch cords into the RJ45 ports.

What to consider before purchase

• Verify that your network infrastructure utilizes Cat5e cabling standards
• Check whether surface-mounted installation is suitable for your interior layout
• Ensure you have an LSA punch-down tool available for wire termination

For optimal network performance, ensure that the drain wire or shielding of your incoming cable is properly grounded to the metal interior of the socket during installation.
