Floor socket DATACOM 2161 with 1×RJ45 Cat5e port and 230V power outlet
Floor socket DATACOM 2161 with 1×RJ45 Cat5e port and 230V power outlet
DATACOM 2161 floor socket integrates a single RJ45 Cat5e network port and a 230V mains outlet in a low-profile floor-mounted enclosure. Intended for office and commercial environments, this unit delivers wired Ethernet connectivity and power at a convenient floor-level access point. The compact design allows installation near workstations, conference tables and open-plan furniture to provide discreet wired network and power without visible cabling.
The floor socket offers a combined data and power outlet in one device, reducing the need for separate modules and minimizing floor clutter. A Cat5e RJ45 port supports standard 100BASE-TX Ethernet connections for reliable wired networking. The integrated 230V socket supplies mains power to devices at the workstation. Its floor-mount design enables flexible placement in office layouts and meeting rooms while maintaining an unobtrusive appearance.
Install the DATACOM 2161 floor socket into a prepared floor box according to local electrical and building regulations, ensuring proper routing of network and power cabling. Connect the Cat5e cable from the network switch or patch panel to the RJ45 port and connect the mains supply to the internal wiring of the 230V outlet by a qualified electrician. After proper installation and safety checks, plug networked devices and powered equipment into the front RJ45 and 230V socket as required.
Place the floor socket where both network and power access are required within reach of workstations or tables, and verify that the Cat5e cable runs are terminated and tested for correct wiring and performance. Ensure the mains connection is installed by a certified electrician and protected by appropriate circuit protection. For higher network speeds or future upgrades, consider installing higher-category cabling (Cat5e is limited to standard Ethernet rates).
