Wall socket DATACOM Cat5e STP 2 x RJ45 Model 2316
DATACOM Wall Socket Cat5e STP Model 2316 is a surface-mounted network outlet with two shielded RJ45 ports. It is designed for mounting onto plaster or other flat surfaces and supports Cat5e cabling with STP shielding to reduce electromagnetic interference. The socket includes an LSA punch-down field and comes with two screws for fastening to drywall or wood.
The double RJ45 configuration allows connection of two network devices from a single outlet location. STP shielding provides better protection against external electromagnetic disturbances compared with unshielded alternatives. The LSA punch-down termination simplifies installation and reliable cable contact. Compact dimensions make the unit suitable for typical wall-mounting situations.
Prepare the installation location and mark the position on the wall. Feed the STP Cat5e cables to the socket location, strip the outer sheath and expose the shielded pairs according to standard wiring practice. Terminate each pair to the LSA punch-down field following the chosen wiring scheme (e.g., T568A/T568B). Secure the socket to the wall using the supplied screws suitable for drywall or wood. Attach the faceplate and test each RJ45 port with a network tester to verify continuity and correct wiring.
Use shielded Cat5e cabling and ensure proper grounding of the STP drain/foil to maintain shielding effectiveness. When installing in environments with high electromagnetic interference, verify connections with a cable tester and keep power and data cables separated where possible.
