Sealant Tape Deka AluButyl Roofing 10 cm x 10 m, brown
Deka AluButyl Roofing 10 cm x 10 m is a self-adhesive sealant tape designed for roofing and general building envelope applications. The tape combines a butyl adhesive layer with an aluminium facing to provide a waterproof and airtight barrier for joints, overlaps and penetrations. Supplied in brown and sized at 10 cm width and 10 m length, this tape is intended for repair work, flashing and detail sealing on a range of substrates including metal and bitumen surfaces.
The construction of butyl adhesive and aluminium facing ensures immediate tack and long-term adhesion without the need for primers on many substrates. The aluminium outer layer adds mechanical protection, UV resistance and a visually consistent finish for brown-coloured installations. The tape is flexible for conforming to irregular shapes and maintains a watertight seal in exposed roof details and joints.
Ensure surfaces are clean, dry and free from loose material, oils or frost before application. Measure and cut the required length, peel off the release liner and press the adhesive side firmly onto the substrate, working from one end to the other to avoid air pockets. Conform the tape around corners and penetrations by applying consistent pressure and smoothing to achieve full contact. Overlap adjacent runs as needed to maintain continuous waterproofing.
Store rolls in a dry, shaded place away from direct sunlight prior to installation. For best adhesion on porous or very dusty surfaces, clean and, where appropriate, prime according to substrate manufacturer guidance. Avoid installation at temperatures below the recommendation provided by the tape manufacturer; if in doubt, warm the tape slightly to improve handling and adhesion. Inspect sealed areas periodically and repair any damage promptly to maintain roofing integrity.
