Deka Alubutyl Roof Sealant Tape 15 cm x 10 m, Brown
Deka Alubutyl Roof Sealant Tape 15 cm x 10 m, Brown is a self-adhesive alubutyl tape designed for watertight sealing and repair on roofs and metal surfaces. The tape combines a flexible butyl-based adhesive layer with an aluminum facing to deliver adhesion to a variety of substrates, providing a durable barrier against water ingress and environmental exposure. With a 15 cm width and 10 m roll length, it is suitable for linear joints, flashings, gutters and localized repairs where a conformable seal is required.
The alubutyl construction ensures strong adhesion to metal, roofing membranes, and many common building materials while retaining flexibility for thermal movement and surface irregularities. The aluminum facing adds mechanical protection and UV resistance, improving weather durability. Self-adhesive application eliminates the need for additional primers or heat in most standard repairs, speeding up installation and reducing labor. The brown color provides a discreet finish for many roof types and metalwork.
Ensure surfaces are clean, dry and free of loose debris, rust scale or oils before application. Cut the required length from the roll and remove the release liner. Press the tape firmly onto the substrate, smoothing from the center outward to eliminate air pockets and ensure full contact. For best adhesion, apply consistent pressure along the tape and roll with a hand roller where possible. Overlap seams by at least 50 mm on longitudinal joints and finish edges to ensure continuous coverage.
Store rolls in a dry, shaded area at moderate temperatures prior to use. Apply at ambient temperatures recommended by the manufacturer—cold conditions may reduce tack and require warming of the tape or substrate. For long-term installations on substrates with heavy corrosion, loose scale or active water leakage, prepare the surface by removing loose material and consider additional mechanical fixing or primer where appropriate. Avoid prolonged exposure of cut edges without proper flashing or protection.
