Sealant Membrane Deka Alubutyl roofing tape 15 cm × 10 m, aluminum
Sealant Membrane Deka Alubutyl roofing tape 15 cm × 10 m, aluminum
Deka Alubutyl is an aluminum-faced sealant membrane supplied as a self-adhesive roofing tape 15 cm wide and 10 m long. The product combines a butyl-based adhesive layer with an aluminium foil surface to provide immediate tack, durable adhesion and a corrosion-resistant outer face. It is intended for sealing, soundproofing and corrosion protection in roofing and construction joints, and bonds to metal, wood and many common construction substrates without the need for mechanical fasteners in many applications.
The aluminum facing offers a weather-resistant barrier and improves UV and corrosion resistance, while the butyl adhesive ensures strong adhesion to a variety of substrates and maintains flexibility over time. Supplied on a roll with a removable release liner, the tape is easy to apply in continuous runs or for spot repairs and provides a watertight seal for flashing, seams and detail work. Its narrow 15 cm width makes it practical for precise applications and working in confined areas.
Ensure surfaces are clean, dry and free of loose material, oil or dust before application. Cut the required length from the roll, peel back the release liner and press the adhesive side firmly onto the substrate, working from one end to the other to avoid trapping air. For best adhesion, apply uniform pressure along the tape and, when possible, use a roller to achieve full contact. Overlap successive runs as necessary to form continuous seals and trim excess material for neat detail work. When used outdoors, ensure laps and edges are securely adhered and oriented to shed water.
Store rolls in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight. For long-term performance, apply the tape within the manufacturer’s recommended temperature range and on substrates that are sound and properly prepared. Test adhesion on a small area if surface treatments or coatings are present. For larger or structural repairs, consider combining the tape with mechanical fasteners or compatible mastics as required by the project.
