Pipe elbow 45° PP 40 mm, Detal-met Kolano nyplowe
45° polypropylene (PP) pipe elbow with a 40 mm nominal diameter from Detal-met. This plumbing fitting is designed to change the direction of flow by 45 degrees in drainage and vent systems. Made from corrosion- and chemical-resistant PP material, the elbow is intended for use with 40 mm PP pipes in residential and light commercial wastewater, venting and internal drainage applications. Connection type may be push-fit or solvent-weld depending on the piping system and installation method.
The polypropylene construction provides good resistance to common household chemicals and sewage, while remaining lightweight and dimensionally stable. The 45° angle enables smoother directional changes compared with sharper bends, reducing the risk of flow restriction and accumulation. Compatibility with standard 40 mm PP pipe systems simplifies replacement and retrofit tasks. The fitting's smooth internal surface supports effective flow and reduces sediment buildup over time.
Select the appropriate connection method—push-fit or solvent-weld—based on your existing 40 mm PP piping system and local plumbing standards. Prepare pipe ends by cutting square and deburring; ensure mating surfaces are clean and dry. For solvent-weld connections, apply the recommended PP-compatible primer and adhesive according to the adhesive manufacturer’s instructions and assemble promptly to maintain joint alignment. For push-fit systems, insert pipe to the marked depth until the stop is reached. Verify correct alignment and slope for drainage; test the assembled system for leaks before closing walls or final finishes.
Use the elbow only with compatible 40 mm polypropylene piping and fittings. Observe local building codes and pressure/temperature limits for PP drainage systems. Avoid exposure to prolonged direct sunlight and high external temperatures; if installed outdoors or in exposed locations, provide appropriate protection. Periodically inspect joints for secure seating and signs of chemical attack or mechanical damage.
