Network patch cord DIGITUS CAT 5e U/UTP, 1 m, RJ-45–RJ-45, red
DIGITUS CAT 5e U/UTP patch cord, 1 m in red, is a short network cable with RJ-45 connectors on both ends designed for Ethernet connections in LANs, patch panels, switches and routers. Manufactured and tested to ISO/IEC 11801 and DIN EN 50173 Category 5e specifications, this cable supports Cat5e performance up to 100 MHz and is suitable for Gigabit Ethernet in short interconnections and tidy cable management. The cable features a molded boot with kink protection, strain relief and a latch protection that reduces the risk of connector damage during handling. The transparent blue coloured plug allows quick identification of Category 5e products.
The DIGITUS CAT 5e U/UTP patch cord combines standardized electrical performance tested up to 100 MHz with mechanical protection elements such as molded boots, strain relief and latch protection to increase connector longevity. Its compact 1 m length reduces excess cabling and improves cable routing in racks and workspaces. Colour coding in red simplifies organisation and identification within structured cabling systems and patch panels. Compliance with ISO/IEC 11801 and DIN EN 50173 ensures predictable channel behaviour and compatibility with Category 5e installations.
Plug one RJ-45 connector into a network device such as a switch, router or wall outlet and insert the other end into the corresponding port on the remote device. Ensure the connector latch clicks into place and route the cable to avoid sharp bends or crushing. Use the 1 m length for short patch runs where minimal slack is required. For installation, verify link lights on connected devices to confirm proper connection and, if required, test the link speed and signal integrity using certified network testers compatible with Cat5e specifications.
For reliable performance, avoid routing the cable near high-power electrical lines or sources of electromagnetic interference and maintain bend radii larger than the cable diameter. Choose the red colour to mark specific circuits or device groups within your structured cabling for easier identification and maintenance.
