DIGITUS Cat5e U-UTP patch cable 1.5 m, RJ-45 to RJ-45, Grey
DIGITUS Cat5e U-UTP patch cable, 1.5 m long, is an unshielded twisted-pair network cable with RJ-45 connectors on both ends. It is intended for Ethernet and general LAN patching up to Cat5e performance, suitable for connecting switches, routers, patch panels and other network devices in home and office environments. The cable is grey and features an updated plug design with improved bend protection and latch guard.
The reworked plug incorporates a bend protection sleeve and latch protection to reduce snagging and protect the latching lever from breakage. Boots with kink protection and strain relief improve durability at the connector ends. Category-specific plug colours (blue for Cat5e, red for Cat6, yellow for Cat6A) help with visual identification. A range of lengths and colours is available to suit different installation needs.
This Cat5e U-UTP cable is not suitable for applications requiring shielded cabling or for environments with strong electromagnetic interference where STP/FTP cables are recommended. It also does not provide the higher bandwidth or future-proofing of Cat6 or Cat6A cabling for demanding, high-speed networks.
Plug an RJ-45 connector into the network port of your device or patch panel until the latch clicks. Route the cable to avoid sharp bends and secure it with cable ties or organisers to maintain the integrity of the bend protection sleeve. For patching in racks, insert each end into the appropriate patch panel or switch port and verify link/activity LEDs on connected devices.
Use the DIGITUS Cat5e patch cable for standard Ethernet connections in home and office LANs, avoid tight bends near the connectors, and choose shielded variants or higher category cables when installing in electrically noisy environments or where higher bandwidth is required.
