Network patch cord DIGITUS CAT 5e F/UTP, 7 m, RJ-45–RJ-45, grey
DIGITUS CAT 5e F/UTP patch cord, 7 m, RJ-45–RJ-45, grey is a shielded Ethernet cable designed for twisted-pair installations that require Category 5e performance. The cable features an overall foil screen around all pairs (F/UTP) to reduce electromagnetic interference and maintain transmission integrity up to 100 MHz. Both ends are fitted with RJ-45 connectors with gold-plated contacts and molded boots that provide kink protection, strain relief and latch protection to prevent connector damage during frequent plugging and unplugging.
The F/UTP shielding improves noise immunity in environments with potential interference sources, while gold-plated contacts ensure reliable conductivity and corrosion resistance. The 7 m length offers flexibility for connecting network devices across racks, workstations and wall outlets without excess slack. Molded boots with strain relief and latch protection extend connector lifetime and simplify handling in patch panels and structured cabling systems.
Route the DIGITUS CAT 5e F/UTP patch cord between network equipment such as switches, routers, patch panels or desktop devices. Insert the RJ-45 plug fully into the device port until the latch clicks to ensure a secure connection. Use the molded boot to guide the cable and avoid sharp bends near the connector to maintain performance. If routing near other cabling or electrical equipment, take advantage of the foil shielding to reduce interference.
For optimum performance, avoid tight bends, kinking and excessive tension on the cable; maintain the recommended bend radius and keep runs within the specified 7 m length for this patch application. When installing in high-interference environments, ensure proper earthing of the shielded system and follow structured cabling best practices.
