Network patch cord DIGITUS CAT 5e SF/UTP, 3 m, RJ-45 to RJ-45, yellow
Network patch cord DIGITUS CAT 5e SF/UTP, 3 m, RJ-45 to RJ-45, yellow
DIGITUS CAT 5e SF/UTP patch cord, 3 m long, with RJ-45 connectors on both ends in yellow, is designed for copper Ethernet connections in structured cabling environments. The cable meets Category 5e (Class D) performance up to 100 MHz and uses SF/UTP (S-FTP) shielding to reduce electromagnetic interference. Each end features a molded boot with kink protection, strain relief and a latch protection to help prevent the latching tab from breaking. The yellow jacket provides visual identification within patch panels and cable runs.
The cable is manufactured and tested to ISO/IEC 11801 and DIN EN 50173 Category 5e specifications, ensuring compatibility with standard Cat5e channel requirements and predictable performance characteristics including near-end crosstalk (NEXT) up to 100 MHz. SF/UTP shielding improves immunity to external interference compared with unshielded cables. Molded boots with strain relief and latch protection increase connector durability during frequent patching and handling. The yellow colour aids quick identification and cable management in active racks or distribution frames.
Plug each RJ-45 connector into the corresponding Ethernet ports on your network devices such as switches, routers or patch panels. Ensure the molded boots are properly seated and avoid sharp bends near the connectors to maintain strain relief effectiveness. Route the cable to minimise exposure to high-power electrical equipment or sources of interference, and secure it using appropriate cable management accessories to prevent tension on the connectors.
For optimal performance, use this Cat 5e SF/UTP patch cord within a structured cabling channel that meets Cat5e specifications and avoid exceeding recommended bend radii. Where higher bandwidths or future-proofing are required, consider upgrading to higher-category cables, but for 100 MHz Class D applications this cable provides compliant performance and improved shielding for environments with elevated electromagnetic noise.
