The DIGITUS Network Cable DK-1624-VH-1 is a Cat.6 F/UTP installation cable designed for structured cabling in commercial and campus environments. This simplex, foiled unshielded twisted pair cable on a 100 m reel supports transmission up to 250 MHz and is specified for data rates up to 10 Gbps in appropriate channel configurations. The construction uses solid AWG 23/1 bare annealed copper conductors with HDPE insulation, an aluminium foil shield and an LSZH (Low Smoke Zero Halogen) outer jacket. The cable meets key industry standards and carries an EN50575 Euroclass Dca fire rating for riser applications.
The cable combines foil shielding with unshielded pair geometry (F/UTP) to reduce external interference while keeping flexibility for installation. Solid AWG 23/1 conductors and HDPE insulation deliver stable electrical performance and consistent impedance of 100 ohm. The LSZH jacket minimizes smoke and toxic emissions in case of fire and the Dca classification ensures compliance with European building requirements. Additional features include PoE+ readiness, a compact 7.2 mm diameter for easier routing, and rated tensile strength for reliable handling during installation.
Plan the cable route and verify that the 7.2 mm diameter and 100 m reel length are suitable for the intended run. Pull the cable carefully avoiding sharp bends and excessive tension; the product is rated for a maximum tensile strength of 150 N. Terminate the cable on compatible Cat.6 connectors or patch panels following the chosen wiring standard (T568A/T568B). Use appropriate tools to remove the LSZH jacket and foil without damaging the conductor insulation, and verify continuity and performance with a network tester after installation.
For optimal performance, maintain bend radii recommended by the manufacturer, avoid routing parallel to power cables to reduce interference, and test each link for near-end crosstalk (NEXT) and return loss. Observe local building codes for riser installations and ensure that connectors and patching components match Cat.6 performance to preserve the channel rating.
