DIGITUS OM3 Fiber Optic Multimode Patch Cord, LC to SC Connectors, 3 m Cable Length, Full Duplex, 50 µm Core Diameter

The DIGITUS OM3 Fiber Optic Multimode Patch Cord is designed for high-speed data transmission in modern network infrastructures. Featuring an LC connector on one end and an SC connector on the other, this 3-meter optical cable bridges different network equipment with precision and reliability. Built with a 50 µm core diameter and a full duplex design, it ensures efficient bidirectional communication for demanding applications in enterprise environments, server rooms, and telecommunication facilities.

Advantages

This multimode patch cord utilizes OM3 fiber optic technology, supporting high bandwidth demands over short to medium distances. The integration of ceramic ferrules in the connectors ensures optimal signal alignment and minimal insertion loss. Constructed with a Low Smoke Zero Halogen jacket, the cable provides enhanced safety by minimizing toxic emissions in the event of a fire, making it suitable for enclosed spaces. Each cable is individually packaged and includes a test report to verify its quality before installation.

Suitable for

• Connecting network switches and patch panels in data centers
• Linking server hardware in enterprise server rooms
• Telecommunication infrastructure installations
• High-speed local area network setups requiring LC and SC connectivity

This cable may not be suitable for long-distance telecommunications spanning across buildings or outdoor deployments, as OM3 multimode fiber is optimized for indoor campus and data center environments. It is also incompatible with single-mode transceiver ports due to differing core diameters and optical properties.

Key specifications

• OM3 multimode fiber optic type
• 50/125 µm core and cladding diameter
• LC male connector to SC male connector
• 3 meters cable length
• Full duplex transmission design
• I-VH cable type with 2 mm cable diameter
• Low Smoke Zero Halogen jacket material
• Aqua color outer jacket

Proper handling is essential when installing fiber optic cables. Carefully align the LC and SC connectors with the corresponding ports on your network hardware and push straight until a click is heard, ensuring not to bend the cable beyond its minimum bend radius. Avoid pulling the cable by the cord itself during extraction; instead, grip the connector housing directly. Keep the protective dust caps on the connectors until the moment of installation to prevent dust and debris contamination.

What to consider before purchase

• Verify that your network hardware uses matching LC and SC port interfaces
• Confirm that a 3-meter cable length is sufficient to span the distance between your connected devices
• Check whether your network architecture requires OM3 multimode fiber specifications
• Ensure that low smoke zero halogen compliance is required for your installation site

Usage recommendations: Store the patch cord in a clean, dry environment protected from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures when not in use. Avoid tight coiling, heavy foot traffic over the cable run, and sharp bends to maintain optimal optical performance and longevity.
