SFP mini-GBIC module DIGITUS DN-81003 — 1.25 Gbps, 20 km, LC fiber, 3.3 V
The DIGITUS DN-81003 SFP mini-GBIC module provides optical data transmission at 1.25 Gbps over single-mode fiber for links up to 20 km. Designed for standard SFP ports with an LC connector and compliant with MSA and EN 60825-1, this transceiver operates from a 3.3 V supply and supports plug-and-play installation. It is intended for use in network switches, routers and media converters where reliable single-mode fiber connectivity is required.
The module delivers stable 1.25 Gbps performance across single-mode fiber with a reach of up to 20 km while maintaining low power operation at 3.3 V. Compliance with the MSA specification ensures interoperability with a wide range of vendor equipment. The LC connector and compact SFP form factor enable easy installation and replacement in standard SFP ports, and adherence to EN 60825-1 provides safety classification for optical components.
Install the DIGITUS DN-81003 module into any compatible SFP port on a switch, router or media converter. Ensure the device is powered off or supports hot-plugging per the device manufacturer’s guidance, then insert the module until it locks. Connect single-mode LC fiber patch cables to the module, observing correct transmit/receive orientation and fiber cleanliness. Once installed, configure the network device as required; the transceiver operates transparently at the physical layer and typically requires no additional drivers.
For reliable operation, use single-mode fiber rated for the intended link distance and verify end-to-end attenuation. Keep LC connector endfaces clean and protected when not in use. Confirm compatibility with the host device’s SFP port and allow for proper ventilation to maintain the module within the 0 °C to 70 °C operating range.
