The KVM IP Extender Set Digitus DS-55348 transmits HDMI signals in UHD 4K/60Hz (3840x2160p) over fiber optic cable for long-distance point-to-point or point-to-multipoint installations. The set includes a transmitter (TX) and receiver (RX) and supports singlemode fiber up to 40 km and multimode fiber up to 300 m. It is compatible with LC and SC SFP modules (modules sold separately) and can be expanded via 1G network switches to support up to 253 receivers.

How to use

Connect the HDMI source to the transmitter HDMI input and, if required, attach a local monitor to the transmitter HDMI loop-out. Install the appropriate SFP module in the SFP slot (singlemode or multimode) and connect the fiber optic cable between the TX and RX. Connect the receiver HDMI output to the display and, if needed, attach mouse and keyboard to the USB-A ports on the receiver to use the KVM function. Provide power to both units using the supplied DC 5V/2A adapters and perform any firmware updates via the micro USB port if available.

Usage recommendations

For reliable long-distance transmission, select the correct SFP module and fiber type for your installation (singlemode for distances up to 40 km, multimode for shorter runs up to 300 m).
