Description

The Digitus DS-72210-1GE 17" LCD KVM Console with 1-Port VGA and German Keyboard Layout is a professional rack-mountable management tool designed for data centers and server rooms. Featuring a 43.2 cm TFT display with a resolution of 1280 x 1024 pixels at 60 Hz and a typical contrast ratio of 1000:1, this console ensures clear visual feedback for system administrators. It integrates a 1-port VGA KVM switch, a responsive mouse touch-board with two function keys, and a German keyboard layout within a space-saving 1U rack housing. The sturdy black chassis is engineered for durability, offering safety locking mechanisms and a fully extractable rail design that allows the TFT screen to tilt up to 120 degrees.

Advantages

This console significantly optimizes server room space by integrating a monitor, keyboard, and pointing device into a single 1U rack-mountable drawer, creating up to 85% more workspace compared to standalone peripherals. The anti-reflective and break-proof protective glass screen enhances durability and visibility in demanding industrial environments. Thanks to its modular architecture, the system provides high future security through adaptable configuration options. The inclusion of safety locking mechanisms prevents accidental damage during extraction or retraction phases, ensuring reliable daily operation in mission-critical server environments.

Suitable for

Server rack management in enterprise data centers
IT infrastructure control in server rooms
Single-server monitoring via VGA interface
Space-constrained rack installations requiring 1U form factor

When it may not be suitable

This console may not be suitable for server environments that rely exclusively on digital video interfaces such as HDMI or DisplayPort, as it is natively equipped with a VGA connection. Additionally, administrators requiring keyboard layouts other than German will need to consider alternative regional configurations.

Key specifications

Display diagonal: 43.2 cm (17 inches)
Display resolution: 1280 x 1024 pixels at 60 Hz
Contrast ratio: 1000:1
Color support: 16.7 million colors
Interface: 1-port VGA KVM switch
Keyboard layout: German
Form factor: 1U rack mountable
Color: Black (RAL 9005)

How to use

Install the console into a standard 19-inch server rack occupying 1U of vertical space using appropriate mounting hardware. Connect the VGA cable from your server or KVM chain to the 1-port VGA interface on the rear of the unit. Extract the drawer completely from the server cabinet, tilt the TFT screen to a comfortable viewing angle up to 120 degrees, and unfold the integrated German keyboard and touchpad. Use the touchpad and function keys for navigation and system administration. Always engage the safety locking mechanism before pushing the console back into the rack housing to prevent mechanical damage.

What to consider before purchase

Verify that your server equipment features a VGA video output or that appropriate adapters are available.
Ensure your rack cabinet has 1U of free space and sufficient depth to accommodate the console dimensions.
Confirm that the German keyboard layout matches the administrative requirements of your team.
Check the weight distribution and structural load capacity of your rack enclosure.

Usage recommendations

Always ensure the safety locking mechanism is disengaged smoothly before pulling out the console and fully engaged when storing it back into the rack to maintain equipment longevity. Keep the anti-reflective glass screen clean using non-abrasive display cleaners to maintain optimal visibility during system administration tasks.
